Our Hotel & Rooms

The Bowmore Hotel is the oldest hotel in Bowmore! The ground floor and bedrooms have been renovated bringing the building back to its original beauty! The Whinstone walls in our dining room and hotel bar creates a fantastic backdrop for the Scottish Elm furniture installed by Scottish Designer, Paul Hodgkiss from Glasgow. The wood in the rooms are Ash and Sycamore which were locally sourced from Dunlossit Estate, the Sycamore is used for the furniture and the Ash for the architectural structures.

Islay’s colours have inspired the interior design of these special rooms and combined with the surroundings of the amazing natural wood it creates the most relaxed atmosphere to enjoy after a day of exploring our beautiful island.

We have 11 rooms in the hotel all with the hand-built furniture by Paul! The rooms vary from our Executive twin/double rooms to our Luxury Family Rooms. All rooms are fitted with en-suite wet rooms with tropical rain shower and underfloor heating. Some of rooms are fitted with unique wooden sinks or stone based sinks and also some of the rooms have amazing view over Lochindaal.

Included Breakfast

Breakfast is included in all room rates provided for residents. There are various options available for breakfast, but the most popular one is the full Scottish breakfast! This Includes items such as locally sourced eggs from Nerabus Farm, Stornoway black pudding OR Scottish haggis, Scottish bacon and locally made sausage from our butcher

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Accommodation Bookings:

  • Reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before 3:00 pm on the day of arrival.
  • Cancellations made after 48 hours of arrival will be charged the full booking amount.
  • In the event of a no-show, the full booking amount will be charged.

Non-Refundable Bookings (only certain times of the year):

  • Full payment is taken at the time of booking.
  • This rate cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded.

Changes to Bookings:

We will do our best to accommodate changes to booking dates or guest numbers, subject to availability. Any changes may result in a difference in price.

Group Bookings:

Group bookings (typically six or more guests, or three or more rooms) may require a deposit and are subject to separate cancellation terms, with 10 days notice required for cancellation.

Cancellations made after 10 days if arrival will be changed the full booking amount.

In the event of no-show, the full booking amount will be charged.

Restaurant Reservations:

  • Small table reservations may be cancelled free of charge.
  • We reserve the right to request card details or a deposit for larger groups.
  • A cancellation fee may apply where a booking is cancelled at short notice or guests fail to attend without notice.

Refunds:

Where a refund is due:

  • Refunds will be made to the original payment method.
  • Please allow 5–10 working days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or card provider.

Exceptional Circumstances:

We understand that unforeseen situations can arise. Requests for refunds outside of our standard policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
