The hotel dining room offers a cosy, homely atmosphere with dimmed lighting, beautiful wood and warmth. Most of our food is sourced locally and the exotics on the menu are sourced in Scotland although not on Islay. Seafood comes from around the coast of Islay, the hand dived scallops are wonderful and come from a local lad who does the diving in all sorts of weather. We sometimes have local highland cattle beef on the menu when it is available. Local venison is used as is local lamb and the beef is as local as we can get. Everything is home made , we are as quick as possible but on busy nights we do ask for your patience while we make your dinner.
At breakfast we use local eggs from free range, happy, hens, Stornoway black pudding, Scottish haggis and Scottish bacon, Locally made sausages from our butcher. Home made Jam and Marmalade with Granary Toast. Smoked haddock can be arranged for breakfast with notice the night before.
At lunchtime we provide home made soups, a variety of main courses and home baking with freshly ground coffee.
The dining room menu and the evening bar menu are the same and a copy of this is on the website.
We can also provide packed lunches on request – handy for bird watchers who are off the beaten track.
